About ADORN

ADORN may be new to Broward County, but our story began in 1979 with my father, Hilder R. Ruiz. He started his journey in Miami, Florida, working alongside professional wallpaper hangers and quickly recognized a demand for skilled craftsmen who could handle high-end wallcoverings with precision and care. Determined to fill that need, he devoted himself to mastering the craft and went on to build his own company, Ruiz Interiors.

Growing up, I often accompanied my father on job sites when school was out. I’d hand him tools, rinse out sponges, and wallpaper switch plates—though at the time, I would’ve preferred to be home watching cartoons. Looking back, those early days taught me invaluable lessons about pride in workmanship and the importance of attention to detail.

As I got older and began exploring career options, I saw that the demand for quality wallpaper installers still existed—especially in the luxury market, where grasscloth and other specialty materials required experience and finesse. I realized I enjoyed the hands-on nature of the work and the satisfaction that comes with being part of a dramatic transformation.

I chose to follow in my father’s footsteps. Over the past 17 years, I’ve worked alongside my family, installing nearly every type of wallcovering imaginable. For the last decade, I’ve led larger-scale projects with a focus on craftsmanship and consistency. In 2018, my wife joined me as my assistant—fittingly, her father was also in the trade. You could say it runs in our blood.
